Google Cloud vice president Amit Zavery has said that the technology giants are not trying to be part of the cryptocurrency wave. However, Amit Zavery has noted that the Google Cloud Platform is building backend services to facilitate developers that work on blockchain.
“We’re not trying to be part of that cryptocurrency wave directly. We’re providing technologies for companies to use and take advantage of the distributed nature of Web3 in their current businesses and enterprises,” Google Cloud vice president Amit Zavery told CNBC.
Google wants to be the preferred choice of Web3 developers and to achieve that, Google Cloud Platform is now putting together a specialist Web 3 team.
“While the world is still early in its embrace of Web 3, it is a market that is already demonstrating tremendous potential with many customers asking us to increase our support for Web 3 and crypto-related technologies,” Zavery wrote in a company email.
In January, Google launched a dedicated Digital Assets Team to allow its customers to exchange cryptocurrency.
“Blockchain technology is yielding tremendous innovation and value creation for consumers and businesses around the world. As the technology becomes more mainstream, companies need scalable, secure, and sustainable infrastructure to grow their businesses and support their networks. We believe Google Cloud can play an important role in this evolution,” Google wrote.
