Crypto exchange Binance strikes exclusive NFT deal with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has become the latest celebrity to enter the Web3 space. Global crypto exchange Binance has struck a multi-year deal to launch a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in an exclusive partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Binance has announced that this deal with Ronaldo will create a series of NFT collections for sale, with the first collection released later this year.

“Through this partnership, Binance will launch a global promotion aiming to give Ronaldo’s fans an introduction to Web3 with a compelling entry point into the world of NFTs,” Binance official website read.

Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, has lauded the Portuguese superstar.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s best footballers and has transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries. He has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent, and charity work,” Changpeng Zhao said.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo said his relationship with his fans is of utmost importance, and he is excited to be part of the NFT space.

“My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of. I know the fans are going to enjoy the collection as much as I do,” he said.

Although Ronaldo is not the first celebrity to hop on the NFT trend, he is one of the biggest sporting icons to enter the Web3 space.
