Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says AI has ended the 'digital divide'

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang declared a significant milestone in computing, stating that the “digital divide” has been eliminated, and anyone can now become a programmer. Huang made this announcement at the Computex forum in Taipei, highlighting the revolutionary impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the computing landscape.

In his speech, Huang emphasized the transformative power of AI, stating, “There’s no question we’re in a new computing era. Every single computing era, you could do different things that weren’t possible before, and artificial intelligence certainly qualifies.”

He further explained that the programming barrier has significantly diminished, paving the way for universal programming access.

“We have closed the digital divide. Everyone is a programmer now – you just have to say something to the computer. The rate of progress, because it’s so easy to use, is the reason why it’s growing so fast. This is going to touch literally every single industry,” Huang added.

Jensen Huang unveils cutting-edge AI supercomputer DGX GH200

In addition to this groundbreaking announcement, Nvidia unveiled its latest offering for enterprises—the DGX GH200, a cutting-edge AI supercomputer with immense memory capacity. The DGX GH200 leverages Nvidia NVLink technology to integrate up to 256 Nvidia GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips into a single, data-center-sized GPU. This superchip combines an energy-efficient Nvidia Grace CPU with a high-performance Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPU, enabling remarkable computational capabilities.

With a staggering 144TB of shared memory, the DGX GH200 surpasses the memory capacity of a single Nvidia DGX A100 320GB system by nearly 500 times. As a result, this powerful system empowers developers to create large language models for generative AI chatbots, intricate algorithms for recommender systems, and neural graph networks used for fraud detection and data analytics.

Nvidia chief Jensen Huang expressed his excitement about the DGX GH200, stating, “DGX GH200 AI supercomputers integrate NVIDIA’s most advanced accelerated computing and networking technologies to expand the frontier of AI.”

Key industry players such as Google Cloud, Meta, and Microsoft are among the first expected to gain access to the DGX GH200, which will serve as a blueprint for future hyper-scale generative AI infrastructure.

Moreover, Nvidia is actively constructing another AI supercomputer called NVIDIA Helios, scheduled to go online later this year, thereby solidifying Nvidia’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI technology.
