Google Workspace chief Javier Soltero has announced that he is leaving the company, with July 15, 2022, his last working day. Javier Soltero took to Twitter to confirm the news of his departure from the company.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many talented people on incredible products that are truly helpful to billions,” Soltero tweeted.
“I am proud of what we have accomplished during this time and confident in the Workspace team, its leaders, and our strategy,” he added.
Soltero joined Google G-Suite (now Google Workspace) team in 2019 after leaving Microsoft, where he spent four years leading Outlook, Office, and Cortana. Soltero was the co-founder and CEO of email app Acompli, which Microsoft acquired in 2014.
Currently serving as the general manager and vice president at Google Workspace, Soltero helped transform G Suite into what is now popularly known as Google Workspace. He managed Google’s productivity and collaboration tools suite, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Slides, and Meet.
In 2020, the tech giants rebranded their Suite as Google Workspace.
“After such an intense sprint, it’s time for me to take a break before I figure out what is next. I am an entrepreneur at heart & want to take time to explore new things to build,” Soltero said.
